Point a video camera a tv screen displaying the image being filmed by the video camera. You get a set of images unfolding off to infinity. Same happens with feedback. The noise comes out of the speaker, goes into the microphone, comes back out the speaker ... over and over again.

You react to the world of the senses with memory. And memories are essentially previous reactions to sensory input. Like the video or the feedback, "you" are the product of recursive, fractal thinking. Reaction after reaction; a self-perpetuating loop of reactions.
